Here you can find the visual outcomes of fieldwork and case-study research that I carried out over the last twenty years in several cities around the world.
Mainly based on mixed methods, combining ethnographies, visual methods and other qualitative techniques, this research has provided more traditional outputs – such as conference presentations and publications – but also a kind of personal photo-journal that includes pictures, research notes and comments (in Italian) beyond the traditional academic formats.
Recurring themes are mainly gentrification/touristification, smart city/place branding, linguistic landscapes and urban protests – connecting a variegated repertoire of urban contexts that have been experiencing over the last decades the same global dynamics of transformation with specific effects territorialized at the local scale.
